Steering knock on full lock but only once???????? HELP (again)

I'm hearing a one knock at full lock but its not the CV joints as these are fine! Its just passed an MOT so it can't be major. The rack does'nt appear to be hitting anything either! I'm all Tax & Tested now but knock is a worry!

HELP!! Indicators but no hazards!!!

Anyone got any ideas? My indicators are working fine and the hazard switch appaers to be fine but i have no hazards at all. Is there a separate relay that controls the hazards that might have gone?

Hi All! I have a little problem and hope someone here can help. Every time it rains my mini refuses to run!! It starts splattering and dying and just wont move! Can anyone give me any ideas on what I can do to help solve this problem. Or some ideas as to why its only when it rains it do it? I presume its the cold wet and damp that must be doing it??? I dont know.
Anyways any help or advice would be very much apreciated.

Has anyone here done it? Or had a go in one?
Building a fresh engine for mine and deciding what route to go really. I have a 1380 block all done sitting in the shed, but heres the thing, a couple of people I have spoken to recommend not to use such a big bore when supercharging- walls of the block and between cylinders being thin- creating more heat and more likely to fail than having a oversized 1275 which I can understand, I mean I blew my last engine without a supercharger

Speedo Drive at instrument end

I have a problem with my speedo, in a 1985 Mayfair with twin intrument dash. The speedo has a small plastic insert in the rear of the gauge which has cracked and distorted, I assume the cable should locate in this and drive the speedo.
Does anyone know where I can get this plastic part as I do not want to change the speedo complete and the mileage history of the car?

I have a set of what appear to be sportspack wheels but I don't know how to identify
if they are genuine Rover items.
Could anyone tell me what to look for on the wheels to find out if they are proper Rover wheels.

Mystery 'Clunk'

I have a problem with my MPI Cooper.
I get a clunking sound (not loud) sometimes when I brake (going fowards)
It generally does it after I have reversed, braked, then gone foward and braked again.
I can 'feel' it through the brake pedal. Normally it does it once then I can drive a long way
and it won't do it again. Sometimes if I stop in traffic it will do it again when I next brake.
I have had a good look underneath at brake callipers and suspension parts...

ENGINE OVERHEATING

Every time i take my turbo out for a run it overheats. I have fitted a new minispares super cool rad and a new 15lb radiator cap and an extra electric fan which has made no difference. Anyone with any ideas (apart from 4 star and matches) it would be really appreciated

Just a quick question, what type of unleaded fuel is best for my mini, I am use regular unleaded at the moment, but I am wondering if the step up to premium fuel would be better for the car's performance, engine wear & tear and fuel consumption.

I could do ball joints, cones, freeing rear brakes. I'm sure there are flywheel removing experts, etc who could do a few guides.

I need some expert advice please!
Need to buy a new coil for my 1972 - 998cc mini. It has had an electronic ignition and has a stage one kit.
I have been told to get a ballasted coil by one person and told not to by another!
Also need to know the correct setting for the timing as yet again have been told 8-10 by one person, 12 by another and 30 by someone else!!!!

window problems!

hello everyone

ive recently found a problem with the drivers side window,
when you wind it down the front half sinks and makes it really hard to put back up.
i took the door card of and found the problem, one of the two arm beams holding the bottom of the window has fallen off (the front one) :L
ive tried putting it back on but it wont fit on, will i need to take the whole window of to fix the problem or is there an easier way ?

and does anyone have any...

Mini City E Brake Issues

Hi there,

I am very new to this and only bought my first Mini a few days ago. It is a 1982 City E police car complete with blue light and two tone sirens (please see attached photos).

I have found that the vehicle has a brake problem. The rear nearside brake stays on after the pressure has been released from the pedal, I also think that the front offside wheel is also a little tight. I have removed the rear drum, brake shoes, and springs, cleaned all parts and refitted...

Companion box help needed

I'm currently replacing the floor, companion box, healboard and inner arches. I know the healboard is in the right place but I can't seem to get the closing panel in properly. I suspect the inner arch may be distoring when I offer it all up. Has anyone got any detailed pictures of this area they could post to help me out? I have the Hayes Mini Restoration Manual but it is useless where this is concerned. I don't have the old panels as reference because they were too...
