I've been itching to go back to Essex, to see the sights of Southend and so we're off to Canvay
Island. Amazingly just 9.7 miles from Rochester if you like a swim, we'll be taking our minis by road.
We'll meet a ASDA Greenhithe nr M25 J1a or A2 Bluewater at 10.30am and then go via the Dartford tunnel (£1.50) and the A13 and A130 onto Canvey Island.
There are 3 long esplanades we can drive along and loads of beaches the other side of the sea defences. We can look at Allhallows from the other side!
We plan to grab some lunch, possibly in the Lobster Smack (not a typo) or one of the other places and then drive back.
There is a bus musuem full of buses since 1944, but fortunately it is closed on bank holidays!
